This year we held our second annual Label Design Contest and it was just as fun as the first time! The theme this year was Under the Sea. We asked our Tubby Todd families and followers to have their little ones draw, paint or color their favorite underwater bathtime scene, give their piece a title and send it on in. We received so many bright and colorful submissions (over 250!!) from some truly artistic kiddos—it was definitely a tough job to choose our winners!
The winning label that we selected after very serious deliberation and a team vote is titled "Soothing Underwater Bath," designed by Samantha B.! We loved the imagination and creativity of her design, and we especially loved this adorable loungin'-in-the-bath whale (literally taking all the self care notes—talk about RELAXED). Read a little about Samantha's inspiration and creative process below!
Q: Hi Samantha! How old are you?
A: I am 10 years old.
Q: How did you decide to feature a whale in the bathtub with little fishy friends swimming around? Does the whale have a name?
A: When I read the theme the first thing that popped in my head was the movie shark tale. In the movie the fish bathed the whales. The whale in my drawings name is Willow.
Q: What do you like most about drawing and coloring?
A: I like drawing and coloring because it’s relaxing. Before the quarantine I was accepted into the art club at my school but COVID-19 came and I couldn’t do it. So I have been practicing more so I can get better at it!
Q: What's your favorite thing about bathtime?
A: I like relaxing in the water. I also like using bath bombs because they make the water smell good.
Q: What's your favorite color?
A: Baby blue
Q: What is your favorite part of the label that you designed?
A: The whale relaxing in the bathtub.
