Last month we held our fifth annual Label Design Contest! The theme this year was "Imaginary Friend" and we asked our Tubby Todd families and followers to have their little ones draw, paint or color their interpretation of the theme, give their piece a title, and send it on in. We received so many creative and colorful submissions from some truly artistic kiddos—it was definitely a tough job to choose our winners!
The winning label that we selected after very serious deliberation is titled “Imaginary Friend” designed by Lianna Bouquard-Nicholson! Read a little bit about her inspo and creative process below, and be sure to grab a bottle of the limited edition Apricot Vanilla Hair + Body Wash with Lianna's artwork while you can!
Q: How old are you?
A: I am 10 years old.
Q: How did you decide on the design for your label design? Does the imaginary friend in your design have a name?
A: I just closed my eyes and starting drawing a design to create a creature but I did not know how it would turn out.
I didn’t have a name for it when I made it but now I am thinking that each face should have its own name. The green face is Lilly, the blue one is Makenzie, the blue/orange/red one is Chomper and the pink one is Cherry.
Q: What do you like most about drawing and coloring?
A: I like how even if you make something that doesn’t look really cool, it is still art and it is beautiful in its own way.
Q: What do you like most about bathtime?
A: I like being able to relax in the tub and play with bubbles.
Q: What's your favorite color?
A: I have 3 favorite colors. They are blue, pink and yellow.
Q: What is your favorite part of the label that you designed?
A: My favorite part of the design is that I like how there are 4 different creatures in one and they are really colorful.
We also chose 4 runners-up, check out their adorable designs below!
Our label contest is such a fun TT tradition that we seriously look forward to every year! Check out some previous years' winners! ⬇️
