5 Simple Valentine’s Traditions Your Kids Will Love

By Koseli Cummings

Love your little one so much you want to kiss their face off? Us too! Sometimes it's good to have a productive way to channel that affection (other than forced cuddles and smooches) and so we are sharing 5 simple Valentine's traditions your kids will love today.

Pillow Surprise

What's better than a surprise on your pillow? Place a tiny toy, pink cupcake, or love note right on top so they find it when they come home from school.

Heart Trail

The night before Valentine's, cut out simple paper hearts or place tiny heart candies in a path leading from your child's bedroom to the breakfast table for special heart-shaped waffles and sliced strawberries. Or, have the trail lead your kids on a wild goose chase through the house until they wind up at a special Valentine's surprise.

Love Note

Whether your child isn't reading yet, or you've got a tween pulling away, a love note is always appreciated. Keep it simple and heartfelt, and throw in a doodle or two for kicks. I promise you'll have as much fun making it as giving it.

Valentine's Bubble Bath

Maybe even a bath bomb too! Invite them to bring some of their favorite toys to the tub, turn on some Valentine's tunes (our Spotify playlist is super fun!), agitate those bubbles like it's your job, and light a couple candles to set a cozy, romantic mood for your Littles. Keep that phone off and just love on your beautiful, perfect babies. Climb in if you're feeling it! Happy Valentine's Day to you, Mama.

New book

A new book for every holiday? Can't go wrong with that! We love following @thereadingninja for great kid's book recommendations. Our favorite love-themed children's books right now are In My Heart: A Book of Feelings, Sonya's Chickens, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Sparkle and Spin, and I Can Do It Myself.

What are some of your family's favorite Valentine's Day traditions? Leave them in a comment below, we'd love to hear!
