Ingredient Spotlight: Avocado Oil

We have begun an initiative to inform and educate our customers about the ingredients used in our products. We use all natural ingredients that are safe for your children, from the tiniest of newborns to ninety nines.

Persea Gratissima

Pronounced: "Per-see-uh Gratis-ee-mah"

What it is

Persea Gratissima Oil is derived from none other than our favorite salad hero, Avocado! Avocados are native to Peru, and have been around for roughly 8,000 - 15,000 years, and despite it's unfortunate name, this superfood, is just that, SUPER! Avocado oil was originally, and still is, extracted for cosmetic use because of its very high skin penetration and rapid absorption rates. It also has been known to have regenerative and moisturizing properties—plus, you can cook with it to boot.

What it does

Avocado Oil contains oleic acid, which works like a tall glass of water to hydrate skin from the inside out, helping to improve the texture and appearance of skin. It is also high in Vitamin E, a potent antioxidant, and is an effective treatment for the other types of skin inflammation. Dry patches? Rough spots? Age spots? Wrinkles? Fine lines? Vitamin E is the hero of the hour!

Where we use it

We use Avocado Oil in our Everyday Lotion which deeply moisturizes and conditions skin, promoting increased levels of collagen production.
