Ingredient Spotlight: Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract

We believe natural products don't have to be stinky, sticky, or stuffy. We're all about good, clean fundown to our nitty-gritty ingredients. We follow good manufacturing practices to make sure every ingredient is clearly sourced, clean, animal cruelty-free, and all-natural. Today, we're talking about Rosemary Extract!

Rosmarinus Officinalis

Pronounced: "Rose-marin-us Offi-she-nal-is"

What it is:

Rosemary is a woody herb, with fragrant, needle-like leaves. It has purple, or blue flowers and is native to the Mediterranean region of the world. The name "rosemary" is derived from the latin word for "dew" (ros) and "sea" (marinus), meaning "dew of the sea."

What it does:

Rosemary has been used since ancient times in both food and as a herbal remedy in herbal medicinal practices. Rosemary contains many natural phytochemicals, compounds used in defense against pathogens and other microbes. Rosemary stimulates hair follicles, allowing hair to grow longer and stronger. It is also nourishing and treats dry, flakey scalps, dandruff and cradle cap. Rosemary also has antimicrobial, anti-inflamatory and antiseptic qualities that make it useful in healing skin with eczema, dermatitis, oily skin and acne.

Where we use it:

We use Rosemary Extract in our Hair and Body Wash and our Bubble Bath as a first step in treating dry, sensitive, and irritated skin. Rosemary Extract is just one of the many reasons our formulas are so moisturizing.

What are some of your fav natural ingredients to use in your home? We would love to hear!
